Event Description:
Why would a painting need a new frame? How do you tell if a frame is
original to a painting? What makes a frame accurate for a painting?
Frames conservator Allison Jackson will discuss the materials she uses
and the decision-making and production process of conserving frames.
She will focus on the Master of the Fogg Pietà's Lamentation over the
Dead Christ, Joos Van Cleve's Saint Jerome in His Study, and Scipione
Pulzone's Cardinal Alessandrino.
